Gliding Stars founder and president, Elizabeth O'Donnell, has announced opening dates for the 2016-2017 season. Weekly skating sessions will take place at the Hamburg Ice Arena from 1-3 p.m. on Saturdays beginning Oct. 1, and at the Hyde Park Ice Pavilion from 4:30-6 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays beginning Oct. 2-3.

Gliding Stars is an adaptive ice skating program that welcomes individuals with disabilities of all ages, from 18 months to seniors. Skaters are able to increase their personal potential by developing skills in a regular program of instruction and practice.

Gliding Stars' team-oriented instructional and motivational program culminates with an end-of-the-year performance in March and April, held at the Northtown Center. Performances are open to the general public.

Fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities are available to those interested in assisting with any of the three weekly sessions. All skating levels welcome. For more information about the upcoming season, or to learn more about becoming a volunteer with Gliding Stars, visit www.glidingstars.org, call 716-608-8345 or email [email protected].
