UB Center for the Arts announces fall 2016 performances

The current lineup follows below:

ABHINANDANAM, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.: A troupe of dancers will showcase the intricate rhythmic dance movements and dramatically expressive aspects of 3,000-year-old Indian classical dance styles.

LEHRER DANCE WITH THE BUFFALO PHILHARMONIC CHORUS, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.: Lehrer Dance opens the M&T Bank Dance Series with a concert showcasing the company's blend of artistry and athleticism in celebration of its 10th anniversary. The program will feature three world premieres (including a live performance by the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus), one Buffalo premiere, and audience favorites from the company's repertoire.

TROMBONE SHORTY & ORLEANS AVENUE, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.: A New Orleans-based, hard-edged funk band that employs hip-hop beats, rock dynamics and improvisation in a jazz tradition.

"THE PRICE IS RIGHT LIVE," Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. (8 p.m. show sold out): Touring stage version of the legendary television game show.

STEVEN WRIGHT, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m.: Academy Award-winning comedian known for his witty one-liners and dry delivery.

SCOTT BRADLEE'S POSTMODERN JUKEBOX, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.: YouTube favorites take current Top 40 hits and reimagine them as coming from older eras of pop music.

BRIA SKONBERG, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.: Hot up-and-coming jazz trumpeter and vocalist performs in a jazz club setting. Both the band and audience will be on the stage. Seating will be general admission with tables and beer/wine available.

"DISNEY LIVE! MICKEY AND MINNIE'S DOORWAY TO MAGIC," Oct. 23 at 1 and 4 p.m.: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and a cast of 25 favorite Disney characters perform.

CHRIS D'ELIA, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m.: The rising standup comedian starred in NBC's "Undateable" and "Whitney," and has his own specials on Netflix and Comedy Central.

ANDERSON, RABIN & WAKEMAN (ARW), Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m.: Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman reform the definitive YES lineup as Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman (ARW) after a hiatus of 25 years.

SIMPLY THREE, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m., Electrifying pop-classical crossover string trio and rising stars on YouTube.

ROYAL WINNIPEG BALLET IN "DRACULA," Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m.: Set to a glorious score by Gustav Mahler, with opulent sets and costumes, this dark fantasy is faithful to Bram Stoker's gothic novel, brimming with passion and fearful suspense.

SHANGHAI ACROBATS OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m.: One of the most influential and competitive acrobatic companies in China

THE BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA'S 13 ANNUAL "CHRISTMAS ROCKS!" TOUR, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m.: The holiday tradition continues with the iconic guitarist/vocalist and his 19-piece band.

COLM WILKINSON: BROADWAY, CHRISTMAS & BEYOND, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m.: Theatre lovers need no introduction to the man who originated such memorable, classic roles as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables" and the Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera."

JOHN CLEESE, Dec. 9 at 7and 9:30 p.m.: The famed film and television comic actor appears as part of the UB Distinguished Speakers Series.
