Cricket Wireless giving away two VIP tickets weekly for backstage seating experience

Every Thursday evening during this summer's Canalside free concert series, two lucky people will get a once-in-a-lifetime entertainment experience and be able to sit on stage in the Cricket Wireless Lounge to view the main act and get a chance to meet the artists. All it takes is a bit of creativity, a friend and a couch.

This full-VIP-access fan experience is all part of a weekly social media contest provided by Cricket Wireless, which is returning to the summer concert series for the second consecutive year as the exclusive supporter of the back stage experience.

"We're happy Cricket Wireless is again a big supporter of this summer's Canalside Concert series, and that we were able to come up with a cool and interactive social media contest this year for our fans to experience something unique and different during our concerts," said Ryan Coate, Canalside general manager.

Each week, the public is encouraged to come up with the most clever, artistic and unique photo of a "couch" experience with one buddy. Just take a photo, use the hashtag #CricketCanalside, post it on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook, and you're automatically entered into the running for this weekly prize.

Previous winners have utilized props, unusual locations and regional landmarks as backdrops, and artist-themed depictions in their photos to make them stick out.

Six fans will also be chosen weekly to win a meet-and-greet experience with the preforming artists.

Canalside will choose the winning entries based on originality, and the winners will be announced Thursday mornings for this summer's music lineup, which includes:

  • June 23: Public Enemy
  • June 30: Frankie Ballard
  • July 7: Dweezil Zappa Plays Frank Zappa
  • July 14: Shakey Graves and Preservation Hall Jazz Band & Wild Child
  • July 21: The Arcs and Mariachi Flor De Toloache
  • July 28: BPO "A Tribute to David Bowie"
  • Aug. 4: Tritonal
  • Aug. 11: Lowest of the Low and Serena Ryder
  • Aug. 18: T-Pain
  • Aug. 25: Claypool Lennon Delirium

Cricket will also have a booth every Thursday night at Canalside featuring games, prizes and special giveaways.
