WNYHeroes Inc. is not soliciting via phone; this is a scam

By Chris Kreiger Sr.

President, Co-Founder

WNYHeroes Inc.

WNYHeroes Inc. is a local nonprofit with the promise that every dollar donated remains in the eight counties of WNY. Our office works tirelessly making sure that our veterans and their families are taken care of, should they need any assistance upon returning home. We do not act as a simple referral service that places those in need in contact with other agencies, because we are that "other" agency. Our office helps hundreds of local veterans every year through the several grant programs that we offer, giving out several thousands of dollars to try and provide some relief.

We work very diligently to ensure that all of our records are kept up to date and maintained to provide the most accurate information possible in accordance with all laws and regulations. We pride ourselves on our programs and how others try to replicate them.

Lately, our office has been contacted multiple times from supporters in the WNY community with concerns about phone calls that that they have been receiving, asking for a monetary donation on behalf of WNYHeroes Inc. We would like to make it clear to everyone, at no time will anyone from our organization contact you via the phone to solicit a donation to or for WNYHeroes Inc.

It is very disheartening to hear that this is happening. Since its inception in 2007, we have grown and continue to grow at a rapid rate. It is truly upsetting when we hear news like this, and (we) will not tolerate any individual or group that tries to take advantage of our supporters, and veterans/families, or attempt to exploit our mission. If you have any reason to believe that you have been wrongfully solicited, please contact our office at 716-630-5020 or email us at [email protected] immediately.

We cannot say thank you enough to the community for your continued support. Should you have any questions before making any donation, do not hesitate to call us. We do our best to keep track of all third-party fundraising events that are held using our name or logo, but we can't follow them all. So if you have a question, call us, please.

As a reminder, we are asking the community to remember, never give out your personal information over the phone. You have no idea who is truly asking for it. It is our community that has brought us this far and we have an obligation to you in return to protect every dollar that you willingly donate.

We thank everyone for their effort to help us grow and continue our work. Most of all, we thank everyone for being a hero. Without you, we cannot continue supporting our families.
