August tournament offers alumni of NYS high schools opportunity to play in two age divisions

The Rinks at HARBORCENTER officially announced the creation of the New York State High School Hockey Alumni Championships. The two-day event will give graduates of New York high schools a chance to once again join with old friends and teammates to play for their alma maters in a fun competition on Aug. 6-7.

Players will be able to compete in over-21 and over-35 age divisions.

"We've really enjoyed creating tournament events for players on almost all levels," said Nik Fattey, HARBORCENTER vice president and director of hockey. "With this new event, our staff has created an opportunity for adults who enjoyed their high school hockey experience and want to re-live that excitement, competing in their high school colors once again. This will be a little bit nostalgic and a lot of fun."

All teams are guaranteed to play at least three games. Top teams will advance to the semifinal and championship rounds on Aug. 7.

All games will be noncontact and all participants will need to be registered with USA Hockey.

The cost per team is $850 and will include all parking fees. For additional information or to register, click HERE.
