The New York State Department of Transportation today announced temporary road closures and lane closures are scheduled to occur next week on a portion of the Robert Moses State Parkway and Route 104 in the Town of Lewiston to allow for the removal of overhead utilities.

From 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. beginning Monday, May 16, and continuing through Wednesday, May 18, the Robert Moses State Parkway southbound, between Route 18F and Findlay Drive will be closed, and the Robert Moses State Parkway northbound between Route 104 (Devil's Hole State Park) and Route 18F will be closed.

Also, the Route 104 southbound ramp to Upper Mountain Road and Interstate 190 will be closed. Posted detours will direct traffic.

From 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, May 20, Route 104, between Power Vista Drive and Barton Road, will have intermittent lane closures.

Motorists should expect delays and should allow for additional travel time.

Motorists are also reminded fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
