Downtown Niagara Falls Business Association hosts first 'Derby Day Sweepstakes' fundraiser

A Niagara Falls prize package valued at more than $5,000 is being raffled off by the Downtown Niagara Falls Business Association on Saturday, May 7, the day of the Kentucky Derby. Aptly named the "DNFBA Derby Day Sweepstakes," ticketholders have the chance at first-, second- and third place prize packages of gift certificates to area hotels, restaurants, attractions and services.

"Ticketholders have a chance to win the ultimate Niagara Falls stay-cation," DNFBA Chairwoman Susan Swiatkowski said. "Our three amazing prize packages showcase about 40 new and established businesses in our downtown Niagara Falls area, and will allow winners to eat, stay and play in our district all year round."

A maximum of 1,000 tickets will be sold in this first-time sweepstakes fundraiser, Tickets are $20 each and are available at The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls administrative offices, 24 Below Gallery, the Niagara Hub, Third Street Tap Room, Legends Bar & Grill and the new Third Street Retreat Eatery and Pub.

Prizes include a variety of gift certificates from the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, Niagara Falls State Park, Tony Roma's Restaurant, the Hard Rock Cafe, Old Falls Street, USA, The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls, Rainbow Air Helicopter Tours, the Niagara Hub, Niagara Tourism & Convention Corp., 24 Below Gallery & Café, Gray Line Tours, the Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival, the Niagara Gazette, Niagara Bike Rentals, the Sheraton At The Falls, Rainforest Café, TGI Fridays, Starbucks Coffee, Wine on Third, the Red Coach Inn, Flip Burger, Quality Hotel & Suites, Legends Bar & Grill, Smokin Joe's Coffee House, the Holiday Inn, the Comfort Inn at the Pointe, the Great American Arcade and more.

Winners will be drawn at the complimentary "Derby"-themed business mixer, being held from 4-8 p.m. at Third Street Tap Room, 439 Third St., Niagara Falls. Sweepstakes tickets will be available for purchase at the event. "DNFBA Derby Day Sweepstakes" ticketholders do not have to be present to win.

In addition to drawing the sweepstakes winners, guests will enjoy live music by Jamie Holka, as well as watching the Kentucky Derby on television. Food will be catered from 24 Below Gallery & Café and Donatello's Pizzeria. The Dirty Bird Chicken & Waffle food truck will also be on hand outside the venue.

Guests are encouraged to wear their finest Kentucky Derby attire, as there will be separate prizes for best hats. Third Street Tap Room will also sell mint juleps that day, with part of the proceeds benefitting the Downtown Niagara Falls Business Association.
