Assemblyman John Ceretto is encouraging local businesses and nonprofits to attend the Global NY Fund informational meeting from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Buffalo Marriott Niagara, 1340 Millersport Highway, Amherst.

Empire State Development is offering $35 million over the next seven years through the Global NY Fund, which provides loans and grants to help New York state's small and medium-sized businesses start exporting or increase their global export sales. As of April 1, there is $5 million available each year ($2 million through the Global NY Grant Fund and $3 million through the Global NY Loan Fund). Grants are also available to nonprofits that provide companies with export assistance and trade education.

"This is an essential opportunity for Western New York businesses seeking to expand," Ceretto said. "I strongly recommend local businesses attend this informative session so they can learn how to take advantage of these funding programs and show the world what Western New York has to offer."
