Don't let the mild weather fool you into thinking that the winter parking ordinance is no longer in effect.
The Grand Island Highway Department reminds residents that town law prohibits parking on town and county roads from Nov. 1 until April 1, from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m.
"Mild weather certainly is welcomed, however Mother Nature has proved that she still may have either snow or ice in a future forecast," said Deputy Highway Superintendent Dick Crawford. "The ordinance allows us to get whatever the weatherman throws our way safely off the road for all drivers."
