Town of Lewiston slates electronics recycling event

The Town of Lewiston Highway Department will accept unwanted electronics for recycling on Saturday, Jan. 30. Items can be dropped off between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the highway garage, located at 1445 Swann Road.

There is no cost or disposal fee. This is a free service provided to all Lewiston residents. Visitors will need to furnish a valid ID or a copy of a utility bill showing Lewiston residency. 

Accepted items include TVs, DVD players, computers, printers and fax machines, microwaves and small kitchen appliances, along with lamps, hair dryers, window fans and hand-held power tools.

Not accepted: window air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, light bulbs and batteries, or any hazardous materials such as paints, chemicals, liquids or powders.
