The 20th annual Tech Wars competition will be held at Niagara County Community College from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13.

This event has a long history of students from grades six through 12 competing in various engineering and technology-based events. This year, NCCC will host approximately 700 students from about 30 school districts to compete in 21 different events. The competitions are spread throughout the campus, primarily in the main gymnasium, as well as in the auxiliary gymnasium, cafeteria and C-building technology laboratories.

Tech Wars gives students the opportunity to apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) knowledge to real-world applications and have fun in the process. Many of these students go on to college in these same fields, to become the designers, engineers and scientists of the future.

In this 20th year, the founders of Tech Wars will be recognized at the event.
