The Buffalo Sabres will host a recycled clothing drive before its game against the San Jose Sharks tomorrow.

The drive is sponsored by the Buffalo Sabres Green Team and will be a part of "Stuff the Truck Day," which is a collaboration of Erie County, the City of Buffalo, Elmwood Village Association, Goodwill Industries of WNY, the Salvation Army of Buffalo, Buffalo City Mission, AMVETS and Hearts for the Homeless. They have formed the Western New York Coalition for Donated Goods (WNYCDG).

Fans who donate will receive a coupon for 25 Fan Advantage points, which can be used to redeem prizes from the store in the Sabres Fan Advantage smartphone application.

The coalition's mission is to educate the public on the benefits of recycling and donating goods and to provide donation opportunities. All clothing donated Nov. 14 will be divided among members of the coalition.

Representatives from the WNYCDG will be located at entrances around the arena and will be collecting clothing, shoes, textiles, towels and bedding from 5-7 p.m. The representatives will not be soliciting donations, but will be prepared for fans who want to donate money to the cause.

The Buffalo Sabres are dedicated to the sustainability of the environment in Western New York and Southern Ontario through the "Blue & Gold Make Green" initiative. The organization is committed to creating programming to help fans reduce their environmental footprint and, at the same time, educate Sabres fans on conservation issues, teaching them how to be greener and directing them to additional resources where they can learn more about environmental issues.
