'Dig in Deep' Tour pre-sales for official fan community begin Nov. 10; public on-sales Nov. 13

The Eastman School of Music and Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival are proud to present the return of Grammy Award-winner Bonnie Raitt to Rochester. She will appear at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre for a one-night-only performance at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016.

Following the highly anticipated release of her 20th album, "Dig In Deep" (Feb 26, Redwing Records), Raitt will kick off her 2016 North American Tour, returning to major cities, including Rochester, where she's long been recognized as one of contemporary music's great live performers.

Bonnie's "Dig in Deep" Tour will feature her longtime touring band, which backs her on the forthcoming album, including James "Hutch" Hutchinson (bass), Ricky Fataar (drums) and George Marinelli (guitar), along with Mike Finnigan (keyboards), who joined the lineup for the triumphant 2012-13 "Slipstream" tour.

"So much of the album is focused on what I want to do live," Bonnie Raitt says. "I write and pick these songs so we can nail them on stage."

Since the release of 2012's Grammy Award-winning album "Slipstream," Bonnie has performed over 200 shows in the U.S. and abroad, including a sold-out concert at Boston's Fenway Park with James Taylor this past summer. Her powerful chemistry with this band creates a magic that has been described as "exquisite" (Chicago Tribune) and "perfect" (Boston Globe).

"We are thrilled to join forces with Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival again to bring another legendary musician like Bonnie Raitt to Rochester," said Keith C. Elder, director of concert activities at Eastman School of Music.

Opening for Raitt on the tour will be The California Honeydrops, a five-piece ensemble led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Lech Wierzynski. Known for its engaging live show and diverse musical influences, the group incorporates Bay-area R&B, funk, Southern soul, Delta blues, New Orleans second-line, gospel and psychedelic groove into its sound.

"Bonnie Raitt is a phenomenal and versatile artist," said John Nugent, producer and artistic director of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival. "This performance is not to be missed and we are excited to present it with our longtime partner, Eastman School of Music."

Continuing a longstanding tradition in conjunction with the Guacamole Fund, Raitt will donate $1 from every ticket purchased to grassroots local, regional and national organizations whose work focuses on safe and sustainable energy, social justice and human rights, environmental protection, and blues/music education.

The album pre-order for "Dig in Deep" begins Nov. 6. The pre-sale for the tour will start Nov. 10 for Bonnie's Fan Community (available through her website), and will be followed by the public on-sale Nov. 13. Ticket sales on Raitt's site include special benefit seats and packages to pre-order "Dig In Deep" CDs and LPs and to purchase an exclusive merchandise item. The public can also purchase tickets, which range between $25 and $99.50, by visiting www.eastmantheatre.org or calling the Eastman Theatre box office at 585-454-2100.

Raitt last performed in Rochester to a sold-out audience at Eastman Theatre and tickets for the upcoming concert are expected to go quickly as well.

Additional tour dates for 2016 to be announced.
