On Sept. 18, members North Tonawanda Fire Department Local No. 1333 took to the intersection of Payne Avenue and Walck Road, boots in hand, to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The partnership, which has been in existence for more than 60 years, raised funds to support the MDA's programs of worldwide research, specialized health care services and day-to-day support - which includes sending children affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to a weeklong summer camp at the Rotary Sunshine Camp in Rush. The total for the day was $1,541.50.
