The Grand Island Rotary Club received a visit from Rotary District Gov. Kevin Crosby at its weekly meeting Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Pictured, from left, Crosby and Grand Island Rotary Club President Amber Storr presented a Paul Harris Award to Grand Island Rotary Immediate Past President Joe Philippone, as they are joined by District Assistant Gov. John Cooper from the Niagara Falls.
During the meeting, Crosby emphasized several points about Rotary: The finish line for eliminating polio is near and the club needs to keep up donations to Rotary Foundation to ensure that; and engagement, not just attendance, is the real basis of service.
The motto for Rotary in the year 2015-16 is "Being a Gift to the World."
