Professional MMA fighter Billy Quarantillo of Gracie Tampa South, Florida, originally from Lewiston, will be among those who will be competing on "The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber."

FOX Sports 1 will host this reality series on Wednesday evenings, beginning Sept. 9. Over the years, the show has sent many fighters directly to the UFC, including Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping, Roy Nelson and Western New York's own Rashad Evans.

Quarantillo, 6-1 as a professional fighter, was invited to try out for "The Ultimate Fighter" after his last fight, where he knocked out Khama Worthy, a skilled fighter who was 7-1 at the time.

Quarantillo has fought all of his pro fights in the 145-pound weight class, but moved up to the 155-pound class, enabling him to participate in season 22 of "The Ultimate Fighter."

This newest installment of the show will see competition whittled down to 16 fighters who will then move into "The Ultimate Fighter" house with Uriah Faber coaching the American team while Conor McGregor leading the Europeans. Competitors will vie for an opportunity to earn a contract.

Check local listings on FOX Sports 1 for starting time.
