Grand Island's CROP Walk for Hunger planning team gathered for a Thursday morning breakfast meeting to plan for the 2015 walk, which will take place Oct. 4, again at Beaver Island State Park.
The team, under the new leadership of Cathy Rieley-Goddard, co-pastor of the Riverside-Salem UCC Church on Grand Island, will be recruiting businesses and individuals to support this effort.
CROP, an arm of Church World Service, raises funds to support the work of reducing poverty, hunger and the scarcity of clean water locally and around the world. CROP Hunger Walks have been an annual event on Grand Island since 1987.
