WBA names scholarship recipients

The Wheatfield Business Association awarded its 2015 scholarships to local students at the association's May 11 meeting. The recipients and their families were invited to attend the Monday evening meeting and scholarship dinner held at Yubb's Restaurant.

This year's scholarships were presented to Kelly Bajorek, Zachary Taylor and Edward Tabor Jr.

Kelly Bajorek, who graduated from Nardin Academy, intends to attend Canisius College for pre-med programs, majoring in biology and science. She has a dream and goal of becoming a pediatrician.

Zachary Taylor, graduating from Niagara-Wheatfield, plans on attending Niagara County Community College, majoring in sports management. He plans on obtaining a bachelor's degree at Niagara University or Buffalo State College.

Edward Tabor Jr., who will graduate from St. Joseph Collegiate Institute, intends to attend St. John Fischer College, majoring in statistics with a minor in sports management.

All WBA scholarship recipients were involved in various school, community and church functions and programs.

The WBA reports its scholarships are open to any graduating high school senior residing in the Town of Wheatfield. The WBA scholarship committee members of would like to thank all the students for applying for the scholarships; the choices were not easy, simple decisions.

The membership of the WBA congratulates all graduates and the best wishes in all their future endeavors.

Maerten serves as secretary of the Wheatfield Business Association and chair of its scholarship committee.
