Daily activities, music, fitness and family programming are all part of the activities planned for Buffalo's waterfront

Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. has announced its 2015 season of summer events and programming at Canalside. This year, Canalside will host more than 1,000 events and activities, including fitness, music, history, festivals and an action-packed slate of options just for kids, all on Buffalo's waterfront.

This schedule is in addition to the continuation of the Thursday night concert series with 12 free concerts - two more than last year - that run from June 4 to Aug. 20; as well as activities and food options planned for the new, water-filled canals that will be announced Friday.

Clinton's Dish is now from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Beer and wine will be sold at The Dish from 3 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Find The Dish's full menu here http://www.canalsidebuffalo.com/visit-canalside/food-and-dining/thedish/.

"We spent the long, cold winter coming up with our best summer of events and programming at Canalside," ECHDC Chairman Robert Gioia said. "With more visitors discovering Canalside each year, ECHDC continues its work to encourage public access of the waterfront and enjoyment of our unique asset. This year, Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. offers a diverse selection of daily activities, with returning favorites and new activities that you asked for."

New offerings at Canalside in 2015 are plentiful with the creative team at Global Spectrum and other partners working throughout the winter to make sure this summer is one to remember. New fitness activities presented by BlueCross BlueShield include POUND-rockout/workout, a full body cardio jam session; Taoist tai chi; and BLT workouts (butt, thigh, leg), as well as Buffalo Bubble Soccer. For the kids, planned programming includes "Seuss Summer," farmer Tom Walsh, Literacy NY - Graphic Novel Project, free youth acting camp by BRAT Theatre, "Rhythms @ Canalside" and WNY Family Magazine's "Fun Thursdays."

For the history buffs, new this season will be the Buffalo History Museum's "Buffalo History Mondays"; "Canal Stories," a 90-minute walking tour by Joel Dombrowski; and family scavenger hunts. Clinton's Dish will host "Open Mic Mondays," "Acoustic After Work Tuesdays," "Wine Down Wednesdays" with DJs and trivia night Wednesdays. A Tuesday night movie series at The Great Lawn also will be fun for the entire family.

Old favorites returning include the Saturday artisan market, children's programming with Explore and More Children's Museum, "Battle of the Bands," music and dance series and "Haunted History Ghost Walks," as well as fitness programs such as power yoga, Zumba and "Exercise Like the Animals."

Amenities, such as table games/game rentals, a reading room, QR Code tours, BFLO Kayak tours/rentals, water bike rentals, Spirit of Buffalo rides, History Tour Boat rides, beach sand play area and new Buffalo Sunset Chairs also will be available throughout the summer.
