The Castellani Art Museum has announced its seventh annual "Meet Me at the CAM" lecture/film series for museum members returns this month.

This year, the CAM will screen lectures from "The Great Courses," "Art Across the Ages," with professor Ori Soltes. Each lecture is 30 minutes long and will focus on an aspect of 20th century art. This five-week series will feature guest speakers who will expand on the topic of the DVD lecture. Guest speakers include Nancy Weekly, Burchfield Penney Art Center head of collections/The Charles Cary Rumsey curator; Dr. Amelia Gallagher, religious studies professor at Niagara University; well-known Buffalo painter and art critic Bruce Adams; and Michael J. Beam, the Castellani Art Museum's curator of exhibitions and collections.

The program begins with a guest speaker, then the screening of an "Art Across the Ages" lecture following a short break.

In "Art across the Ages," Soltes has crafted a course in Western visual art that serves as both a mind-broadening survey and an essential introduction, CAM staffers said. It is designed to give anyone interested in Western art a firm familiarity with its basics, acquainting one with major artists and styles in various media and providing a broad foundation for deeper exploration.
