At the corner of East Avenue and Blairville Road in Youngstown sits Somewhere bar and restaurant. It's the perfect place for an after-work beer, or swinging by for dinner with the family without having to worry about a hefty bill.

Pat Stack, owner of Somewhere, began bartending during his college years at local Niagara Falls bars. After retiring from the Niagara Falls Police Department years later, he decided he wanted to be behind the bar again. Only this time, Stack wanted his own place. So, in 2014 he got just what he wanted.

"I wanted a corner bar where people could feel comfortable," Stack said.

This corner bar is a local favorite. With a welcoming hometown feel and "beach bar" vibe, this place is one-of-a kind. Although the establishment itself is small, it is exactly what Stack wanted. His goal was to find a place to sit 20, hold 50, but have enough outdoor space for parties of 200 plus.

Comfortable is an understatement for the feeling one gets in Somewhere. The cozy seating and friendly service Stack provides, leaves you feeling right at home with some great friends.

Stack said he gained his love of cooking and ideas for the food from family and friends throughout the years.

The delicious creations Stack cooks up are one of the key components in setting the bar and restaurant apart from other local restaurants. All the food you devour at Somewhere is picked up fresh that day from local suppliers. Stack makes the bread and rolls, along with the soups and chili from scratch each morning using fresh ingredients.

The chicken dishes are phenomenal. The chicken soaks for nine hours in the marinade then is slowly grilled. Whether it's the "Lola" or the "Cha-Cha Chicken," the tender, melt-in-your-mouth sandwich is sure to please your taste buds. "The Big D," "Taco Dog" and the "Boy Wonder Burger" are just a few other mouth watering creations at Somewhere, all made fresh with meat from local butchers.

"My favorite is the 'Taco Dog'," Niagara University student Maura Christie said. "It was so delicious!"

Although Somewhere has no deep fryers, the potato wedges do not fall short. These tasty creations are seasoned and baked to a crisp golden brown and taste incredible dipped in Somewhere's signature blue cheese.

One of Stack's newest additions are his homemade pierogies, which quickly are becoming a favorite.

"The pierogies were just simply amazing,"  Niagara University student Kim Burnham said. "My only regret was that I couldn't eat more!"

It's not just the food at Somewhere that is outstanding. The handcrafted drinks, like "Pat's Summer Sangria" and "Bloody Somewhere," keep the 21-and-up crowd coming back for more.

"The sangria is to die for!" Burnham raved.

With a fun and welcoming atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, as well as the volleyball tournaments held here, Somewhere will continue to be the perfect place to spend those warm summer days that are right around the corner.

To Stack, the quality of his food and beverages are a top priority. Since opening, business has been busier than he expected. Stack is soon going to begin the quest for extra summer help to keep up with the demand.

Thursday nights at Somewhere are expected to bring in a crowd. The sandy volleyball courts and outdoor patio area add to the "beachy" element of this local staple. With 35 volleyball teams already signed up for the Thursday night games, Somewhere added Wednesday nights as well. Stack plans on doing some unique updates to the patio  that will surely add to the experience, like a new bar and seating area.
