Top six to be revealed Wednesday on FOX

Wednesday night, Ryan Seacrest announced the top seven finalists on "American Idol XIV": Quentin Alexander, Clark Beckham, Joey Cook, Nick Fradiani, Jax, Tyanna Jones and Rayvon Owen.

Owen and Qaasim Middleton were in the bottom two. America had the chance to save one of them with the "Idol Fan Save" via Twitter. Owen received the most votes and therefore continues in the competition, while Middleton, from Brooklyn, was eliminated.

Also on the show, it was announced the finalists who make it to the top five will join the "American Idol Live!" U.S. tour, beginning this summer. Dates and cities, including Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Nashville and many more, will be announced next week. Tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, April 17.

Next week, Wednesday, April 15 (8 p.m.), the finalists will perform on an "American Classics"-themed show, which features songs selected by the viewers at home. Fans were called to action and asked to suggest "American Classics," using the Twitter hashtag #IdolClassic, creating a list of songs from which the competitors could choose.

"American Idol" fans now have the opportunity to save a finalist from elimination by a real-time vote using Twitter. Once Seacrest announces the bottom two finalists and they perform, the "Idol Fan Save" hashtag #Save(ContestantName) for each will appear on air, and fans across the country will have a short window (five minutes) to tweet their save votes (one per Twitter account). Once the "Idol Fan Save" window closes, no more votes will be accepted, and the real-time, immediate results will be revealed by Seacrest.

Those fans who are not able to watch "American Idol XIV" during the East Coast or central time broadcast can follow @AmericanIdol on Twitter to find out which contestants are in the bottom and when the vote window is open and/or watch the live stream from the studio by visiting www.AmericanIdol.com. Viewers can see the results of the Twitter vote on "American Idol" XIV when it airs in their markets.
