Red Siren first major retailer to come to downtown waterfront

HARBORCENTER, the hockey and entertainment complex at Canalside in downtown Buffalo, will include a specialty retail store opening in early summer called Red Siren.

Founded by Performance Partners President and CEO Sharon Randaccio, the store has been more than a year in the planning, securing relationships with more than 50 specialty gift, jewelry, leather and clothing manufacturers to bring several unique brands to Western New York.

"Downtown Buffalo is exciting; people are returning to the waterfront and, when they do, we want them to be able to shop in a special store that caters to 'each woman's unique style,' " Randaccio said. "We will hit all price points and cater mostly to women while providing a retailing experience not seen in downtown Buffalo for 40 years or more."

The 1,200-square-foot boutique will be located on the western side of HARBORCENTER, facing Canalside. Around the corner from the (716) Food and Sport as well as the Tim Hortons Café & Bakeshop, it will appeal to local shoppers, hockey moms and tourists. When HARBORCENTER's Marriott Hotel opens later this year, the store will be in full swing.

"Buffalo women, especially, are going to find treasures here they are used to buying out of town," Randaccio said. "We are patching into the energy surging in downtown Buffalo. We believe in the city and its resurgence and we're thrilled to be part of it."

Randaccio and her team of buyers and designers have worked closely with HARBORCENTER and Michael Clark of CBRE to bring the vision of a robust retail marketplace to reality.
