The heavy equipment/diesel/ag mechanics students at the Orleans/Niagara BOCES Niagara Career and Technical Education Center are getting a chance to work with a brand-new engine courtesy of Milton CAT of Batavia.

Teacher Wes Blidy said the company has been extremely generous to his class in the past, allowing them to tour their facilities and talk to them about job opportunities. Now they have gifted them with a 2013 C4.4 diesel engine.

"We will use it for electronic troubleshooting, engine teardown, studying fuel systems and exhaust emissions training," Blidy said. "It is a great opportunity for the students to work with the latest technology and improve upon their skills as they get ready to prepare for the workforce."
