Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will kick-off Thursday in New York City with the Go Red For Women "Red Dress Collection" fashion show. Fortunately, Western New Yorker's don't have to miss it. The "Evening in Red" reception celebrating Go Red For Women will live-stream the "Red Dress Collection" event where top designers and celebrities demonstrate their support for women's heart health from New York Fashion Week.

The annual local fundraiser will take place beginning at 6 p.m. at Kleinhans, 3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo. Individual tickets are available at the door and ticket packages can be purchased in advance for a discounted rate. All attendees will receive a "SWAG Bag" of unique products valued at $90. For tickets and more information, visit www.GoRedBuffalo.Heart.org.

Twenty celebrities will walk the runway for the "Red Dress Collection" show wearing exclusive designer-made red dresses in support of women's heart health. Among the celebrity models are Thalia, Bethany Mota, Kristin Cavallari, Tippi Hedren, Tracy Anderson, Laverne Cox, Alexa Ray Joel, Ciara, Zendaya Coleman, Dascha Polanco and Star Jones.

Joanna Pasceri of WKBW ABC Channel 7 is the mistress of ceremonies. The "Evening in Red" reception features a strolling (local) survivor fashion show, a speech by survivor Julie Wolasz of Buffalo, an interactive health expo and demonstrations.

Go Red For Women provides women with life-saving information about heart disease symptoms, as well as prevention tips and resources. Heart disease is not just a man's disease. Each year, 1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke. But 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.

Macy's is the national presenting sponsor. The local sponsor is Catholic Health WomenCare. Macy's has offered to wardrobe survivors in red strolling in the Buffalo fashion show, offering a discount on dresses and styling tips. Since 2004, Macy's has raised more than $46 million for the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women.
