NBC to broadcast Super Bowl XLIX from Arizona
NBC's coverage of the 2014 NFL Playoffs continue this Saturday with an AFC Divisional Playoff matchup between Tom Brady and the AFC East champion New England Patriots and Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens at 4:30 p.m. Coverage on Saturday begins at 3:30 p.m. with a special edition of "Football Night in America."
Saturday marks NBC's final NFL broadcast before hosting coverage of Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona Sunday, Feb. 1.
During NBC's Wild Card game last Saturday, the Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-17, with Flacco throwing for 259 yards with two touchdowns. Saturday marked Flacco's 14th career postseason start, tying Brady for the most postseason starts by a quarterback in his first seven seasons. Brady has 18 career postseason wins, the most in NFL history. The Patriots come off a first-round playoff bye for the fifth season in a row after earning the No. 1 spot in the AFC with a Week 16 win over the New York Jets.
Saturday's matchup between the Ravens and Patriots marks the fourth time in the past six seasons these teams have met in the postseason, with all three taking place in New England. Two meetings have been the AFC Championship Games, with the Patriots defeating the Ravens 23-20 in 2012, and the Ravens earning a 28-13 win over Patriots the following season en route to their victory in Super Bowl XLVII.
