Mary Ann Hess: Clipping by day, chocolate for the stars by night

Mary Ann Hess is a dynamo.

The Niagara Falls native leads two productive and very busy lives. Late in 2014, the longtime hairstylist made the move to Chelsea's Salon on Haeberle Avenue in Niagara Falls. All the while, her chocolate business has been on the rise in Western New York and around the country.

In the past year, Niagara's Honeymoon Sweets was seen at the Super Bowl, the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. Her unique chocolate Oscar statuette was given to people such as the producers of the Disney movie "Frozen" and to the late Mickey Rooney, in what was to be his last public appearance.

Hess also made special chocolates for Fox News Channel contributor Dana Perino and the "The Five" show, as well as chocolate frames for "The Queen Latifah Show" and a special piece for daredevil Nik Wallenda.

Niagara's Honeymoon Sweets is family-owned and operated, led by Hess. The company is dedicated to her young grandson, who has Crohn's Disease.

Niagara's Honeymoon Sweets holds a patent to the only chocolate mold featuring a finely detailed embossing of Niagara Falls to share the "Wonder of the World" with all the world.
