The Town of Wheatfield 2015 tentative budget was announced at Monday's Town Board meeting.

The total budget is just under $12.7 million. There will be no highway or general tax. The overall tax rate is down 0.26 percent from last year.

"This budget is a good budget for taxpayers," Supervisor Bob Cliffe said.

Any changes the board wishes to make will be made at the next meeting on Oct. 20.

A public budget hearing is scheduled for the Nov. 3 board meeting, when it could be adopted, unless a need for change is seen. The final budget will be adopted no later than Nov. 20.

In other town board news:

•Wheatfield resident Sharon Downie approached the board with concerns about the Cobblestone Creek development on Errick Road. She mentioned a letter she received about a meeting regarding the proposed subdivision.

The developers of Cobblestone Creek will hold an informational meeting for residents at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Wheatfield Community Center. The letter announcing the meeting was supposed to go out to all property owners with lots adjacent to the proposed subdivision, though at least one Errick Road resident said she had not received one.

The board said it was unaware of the meeting and thanked her for bringing it to the councilmembers' attention.

•Two York Road property owners said they were unhappy with the quality of paving being done on the street. They said thick pavement was being put down over dirt, causing it to shift. York Road resident Rick Lennox said workers milled the whole street, except for about 50 feet near his home.

"They put pavement down on one side of the road at 2 inches until they got to the side of the road that wasn't milled, and then they put three-quarters of an inch on top of the road they did mill," Lennox said. "That's all just lifting up now. It has to be addressed somehow."

•Multiple residents against Quasar Energy Group addressed the board with their concerns. Topics included the company's recent change from a Class B facility to a Class A and other regulatory policies.
