The Niagara Wine Trail is looking for sleuths to solve a murder mystery. Celebrate Halloween with the trail's annual "Hallowine Murder Mystery" weekend. This year's event, "Madd Hatter Murder Mystery," will be held Oct. 17-19.

Come as yourself or in costume.

This event is pre-sale only. Participation in the event is $30 per person plus tax. Tickets will not be available the day of the event. The ticket price includes a commemorative wine glass from the first winery, three tastings at each participating winery along the trail, and the clues to solve a murder mystery at each participating winery.

Ticket price does not include transportation. Groups are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets in a single transaction.

In "The Madd Hatter Murder," the character suspects in the tea party mystery will be on hand at the wineries to assist with solving the crime. Guests are encouraged to solve the crime and submit their answer at their last winery. Correct guesses will be entered in a drawing to win prizes. Guests do not need to visit every winery to submit their guess.

BlackBird Cider Works will not be accepting groups over 20 people for this event without a reservation. Groups must have a prior reservation made directly with BlackBird Cider Works.

Arrowhead Spring Vineyards, A Gust of Sun winery, Black Willow Winery, Chateau Niagara Winery, Midnight Run Wine Cellars, Honeymoon Trail Winery and Eveningside Vineyards will not be participating in this event.

All wineries will be open for regular wine tasting during the "Hallowine" event.
