All 32 NFL owners approved the sale of the Buffalo Bills from the family of the late Ralph C. Wilson to Buffalo Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The Pegulas will pay $1.4 billion.

Speaking of the approval, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said, "With this morning's unanimous approval by the NFL owners, Terry and Kim Pegula's purchase of the Buffalo Bills has cleared one of its last hurdles, and Bills fans everywhere can rest assured that the team is owned by a couple who is truly committed to Western New York. I offer my congratulations to the Pegulas - they have made a sound investment in one of the most vibrant aspects of the Empire State, and I gladly join them and all New Yorkers in cheering the Bills to victory this season and for many seasons to come. Go Bills!"

Congressman Brian Higgins said, "We celebrate and welcome Terry and Kim Pegula's tenure as the next owners of the Buffalo Bills. For the last three years, as owners of the Buffalo Sabres, they have demonstrated their genuine commitment to Buffalo fans and the Western New York community. We thank the Wilson family for their unwavering dedication to Buffalo over an extraordinary 55-year span and are grateful to know that Mr. Wilson's legacy and generosity will live on in Western New York. Today's vote cements the Buffalo Bills' place in Western New York for generations to come."
