Kaleida Health's "HeartCaring" program will sponsor a "Heart to Heart" community seminar and screening event Thursday. The program, which focuses on peripheral artery disease, will take place at 6 p.m. in Swift Auditorium at Buffalo General Medical Center.

During the seminar, Dr. Sonya Noor will discuss poor peripheral circulation and how it contributes to a higher risk of heart attacks and strokes. She also will review preventive measures.

A Q&A session will follow the presentation. Free cholesterol and blood glucose screenings will also be available at the event.

Noor is a vascular surgeon in private practice at Buffalo Endovascular & Vascular Surgical Associates. She is affiliated with Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and Buffalo General Medical Center, and evaluates and provides medical and surgical treatment for complications and diseases of the blood vessels, including traditional open surgeries or endovascular surgical techniques.

Kaleida Health's "HeartCaring" program provides education and outreach to improve detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases for everyone in the community.
