The Youngstown Business and Professional Association met Tuesday evening in the Officer's Club at Old Fort Niagara. YBPA President Cheryl Butera and Secretary and Standing Treasurer Mark Butera ran the well-attended gathering of business owners.

The Mug & Musket, formerly Brennan's, is now open from 4-11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and noon until 8 p.m. on Sundays. VP of Niagara Jet Adventures Aaron Day shared news his business will bring thousands of tourists to Youngstown and will make improvements to the docks, parking and build a restroom/changing facility to accommodate the expected influx of tourists. Dey also informed the group Mike Fox has sold his interest in Niagara Jet Adventures to Chris Bohnenkamp, making Bohnenkamp sole owner of the venture.

Tim Adamson cheerfully reviewed the fifth annual Youngstown Street Dance ("the best ever," as he called it). Josh Stack's efforts to bring in the vintage car show and have one of Niagara Jet Adventures' boats on display proved to be very welcome additions. Expectations for the 2015 event are high.

All summer, The Dory has rented bicycles, which were donated by the Village of Lewiston. The business was able to donate a portion of the proceeds - $100 - to the Youngstown Recreation Center.

The Youngstown Arts & Music Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce has four information/brochure racks spread throughout the area: one is at Anchor Spirits in Youngstown; another is at the Chamber of Commerce office in Lewiston; a third is in Sanborn at the Tractor Museum; and soon one will be placed in Ransomville.

The meeting closed with some businesses expressing displeasure with the YBPA's handling of its social media. Participants said the YBPA is not represented fairly. YBPA board members chided the apparent lack of fairness issue as an ardent discussion between several members on each side of the issue took place.

Old Fort Niagara Executive Director Bob Emerson's area events coordinating committee meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Cora Gushee Room at the Red Brick.
