Come fly a kite

The annual Kidz 'n' Kites event is scheduled for this Saturday at the Town of Niagara Veteran's Memorial Park, 7000 Lockport Road, across from Town Hall.

This is a free event for families, and the first 1,000 children to register get a free T-shirt, kite and hot dog lunch. In addition, there are dozens of attractions and activities that families can enjoy for free, including juggling, clowns, face-painting, the Niagara Falls Police Department Command Center, the Niagara Falls Fire Department Fire Safety House animal and wildlife rescue groups, the Niagara County SPCA, car seat safety checks and music.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Fly time is noon to 2 p.m. Rain date will be Sunday.

Main sponsors for the event are the Niagara County Department of Social Services, Niagara County Youth Bureau, Niagara County Sheriff's DARE, Niagara PAL and the Town of Niagara.
