David Sanchez has announced his candidacy for the Lewiston Town Board. Sanchez has received the support of the Town of Lewiston Democratic Committee and is seeking the endorsement of the Niagara County Democratic Committee.

Sanchez is an attorney with Amigone, Sanchez & Mattrey LLP. He practices in the areas of matrimonial and family law, business acquisitions and divestitures and general litigation.

He is a graduate of Canisius High School, St. Lawrence University and received a juris doctor degree from Nova Southwestern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Sanchez is married to Cynthia (Long) Sanchez who teaches art at Lewiston-Porter High School. The couple has a 10-year old daughter, Lucia Clare. Sanchez is the son-in-law of Tom and Myriam (Leardini) Witkowski.

"Lewiston is my adopted home," Sanchez said. "However my wife's family has deep roots here and I've come to love this community. I want to use my talents to make it a better place for families, individuals and businesses to continue to grow and thrive."

Sanchez is especially concerned about Lewiston's financial condition. "We must have complete financial transparency in town government," Sanchez said. "I intend to represent the people of Lewiston zealously and to closely watch every dollar spent. I truly believe that fiscal stability can come without sacrificing the services that residents have come to expect. It simply takes hard work and discipline."

Sanchez said he will work with all members of the Town Board to bring long needed reforms to town government while at the same time maintaining his independence and core values. Sanchez said, "Our job as public servants is to serve our residents. Lewiston can only move forward with a Town Board that is committed to do that. I believe my education, experience and commitment to our community can make a difference."
