Amanda M. Ripson of Youngstown has announced her candidacy for Porter town clerk. She will be on the ballot for the Republican primary on Sept. 9.

Ripson is a lifelong Porter resident and graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School and Niagara County Community College. It's her sense of community and love of her hometown that prompted her decision to run for local political office. Ripson has been active in volunteering virtually her whole life, and has a true sense of commitment to her community.

"It's time for new ideas and a fresh outlook on how to better serve the residents of Porter," she said. "We need to expand our services by using modern technology more effectively and efficiently. Porter needs to do a better job promoting all the wonderful activities, events and businesses that makes our hometown such a great place to live. I want to be part of that.

"I'm confident that I can offer you the customer service, communication and problem solving skills our community is seeking."
