NY Great Lakes basin small grants program requesting funding proposals

Application webinars Aug. 26 and Sept. 2

New York Sea Grant, in partnership with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, is requesting proposals for projects that will benefit the environment and economy of the Great Lakes region of New York state.

To help not-for-profit organizations, local governmental and public agencies, and public and private educational institutions apply for grants of up to $25,000, New York Sea Grant will offer informational webinars on Aug. 26 at noon and Sept. 2 at noon. Those interested in registering may email their name and email address to [email protected] to receive more information.

Grants will be awarded for projects that enhance community resiliency and ecosystem integrity. Ecosystem-based planning, monitoring, evaluation, assessment, implementation, stewardship and demonstration projects and applied research projects are eligible. Projects must be located within or be directly related to the Great Lakes basin region of New York.

Proposals will be due by Sept. 30. Grants will be announced in early November. Application guidelines are online at http://www.nyseagrant.org/proposals.
