Equi*Star is a therapeutic riding center dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disabilities through equine related activities. On July 27, Equi*Star will hold an open house to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The public is invited to join in the fun at the ranch, 2199 Fuller Road, Burt. The festivities start at noon and will end at 5 p.m.

Special guests this year include Matt Cox from Miracle Mountain Ranch in Spring Creek, Pennsylvania. Cox will deliver his "Message on the Mount" astride his famous long-horned steer, Bosco.

Leah Hunt, a local trick rider, will perform on her horse, Silver.

The Equi*Star riders have some special demonstrations they have been working on. There will also be personal pony demonstrations and pony interaction.

"Mountain Man" Jerry Pechuman will be on hand with his authentic display and mountain lore.

Throughout the day, there will be barbecue and snacks available, games for the children, pony rides and other fun activities. Admission is free and people are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

In honor of the celebration, Matt Smith from Miracle Mountain Ranch will offer riding lessons on Saturday, July 26, for individuals who have access to a horse.

Stop out and see what therapeutic riding is all about. Help Equi*Star celebrate 20 years of making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
