Kelly Nash, a running coach and supporter of Heritage Christian Services, plans to run 100K along the Heritage Trail to raise money and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the agency, which serves children and adults with developmental disabilities.

She will start at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at a home operated by HCS in Lockport, and expects to arrive at the Pieters Family Life Center in Henrietta around 7:30 p.m.

Through her fundraising page - which is part of the Heritage Christian Legacy Mile & 5K - she has already raised $1,000. She's hoping more people will donate before the Legacy Mile & 5K, a fundraising walk and run scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6, in Brighton.

This isn't the first time Nash has run this far. Some of her longer runs include: Canandaigua 50 miles (done 3 times); Mind the Ducks 12 hour Ultra in 2011 and 2012 covering 62.9 miles and 60.8 miles; and a 24-hour treadmill run for a total of 106.49 miles. She has also completed 19 marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 2012.

Heritage Christian Services is a thriving human services agency that supports more than 1,800 children and adults with disabilities; provides high-quality child care; and matches business owners with talented workers who have developmental disabilities. The agency operates more than 70 neighborhood homes; offers service coordination, respite, community habilitation and 29 day programs. HCS has been recognized by the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities as one of New York state's top service providers to people with special needs, and recently earned national accreditation from the Council on Quality and Leadership.
