Audition for 'Peter and the Wolf,' a 'Free Family Saturdays' event

The Greater Niagara Ballet Company will present two performances of "Peter and the Wolf" Saturday, July 19, as part of "Free Family Saturdays" at Artpark. The free performances begin at noon and 2:30 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheater.

Dancers interested in participating can audition for the GNBC Saturday, June 7, at the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls (enter the purple door on the Portage Road side of the building).

The audition fee is $25 per dancer. The schedule is:

9 a.m. Flowers: Eight dancers ages 8-10 years old are needed. Dance experience is required.

9:30 a.m. Hunters: Eight dancers ages 10-15 years old are needed. Dance experience is required.

9:45 a.m. Dancers ages 14 and older with strong pointe and partner experience can audition for the role of Bird, while dancers ages 14 and up with strong ballet experience can tryout for the roles of Duck, Wolf and Cat.

Rehearsals will be Saturday mornings and some weekday evenings. For more information, contact Beverley Feder at 716-285-6800.
