Nonprofit arts organization bestows award to the 20th Century Fox film starring Shailene Woodley

Based on the young adult novel by Indianapolis native John Green, the 20th Century Fox release "The Fault in Our Stars" has been recognized by Indianapolis nonprofit Heartland Film with the Truly Moving Picture Award. Heartland Film honors select theatrically released films - entertaining movies that do much more than just entertain - with the industry award.

"An insightful, hilarious, sad, thought-provoking film, 'The Fault in Our Stars' manages to capture the spirit and characters of John Green's now-classic novel in a new and profound way," said Heartland Film Artistic Director Tim Irwin. "With strong acting, and a great score, the film will touch each audience member in a different way. We are proud to honor 'The Fault in Our Stars' with Heartland Film's Truly Moving Picture Award."

Hazel (Shailene Woodley) and Gus (Ansel Elgort) are two extraordinary teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them - and audiences - on an unforgettable journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous, given that they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.

"The Fault in Our Stars," based upon the No. 1 bestselling novel by Green, explores the funny, thrilling and tragic business of being alive and in love. The film will be in theaters June 6.
