May is Better Hearing & Speech Month across the U.S. Each May, Better Hearing & Speech Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the professional treatment available.
In Western New York, Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center is leading this effort to raise awareness by hosting a series of free hearing screenings. The screenings will check for any early signs of hearing loss and related problems. All screenings are free and open to the public. Those interested in scheduling a screening are encouraged to call ahead.

Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center, a not-for-profit organization, is a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment center for children and adults with speech-language and hearing problems. The center employs more than 300 staff members, including full- and part-time licensed speech-language pathologists, audiologists, occupational and physical therapists, teachers and teacher aides. BHSC is the largest hearing and speech center in Western New York, proving assistance to more than 11,000 children and adults annually.
