The Niagara-Wheatfield Central School District is celebrating the delivery of five new buses to its Transportation Department.

Thanks to a resident vote that approved the acquisition of the buses, several deteriorating buses were pulled off the road and traded in to Leonard Bus Co.

"This has been a long haul," says Transportation Supervisor Leslie Buczkowski. "We are so glad that the public realized how much these were needed. I am so excited; you have to peel me off the wall."

School Business Administrator Allison Brady added, "This is the beginning of a new plan in place. We plan on reducing repairs, improving the safety and affect cost savings."

Superintendent Dr. Lynn Marie Fusco couldn't wait to get on the first bus when it pulled in. "It took us a lot to get these buses. This is so exciting to know as a district we are moving forward literally and figuratively. I really believe this is the beginning of good things in Niagara-Wheatfield," she said.
