NCCC Alumni Association to host annual 5K run/walk

The Niagara County Community College Alumni Association will host the 2014 Alumni 5K Run/Walk Friday, May 2. The course is now USA Track and Field-certified and features a fast, flat route around the scenic campus in Sanborn.

Proceeds from the race support NCCC student scholarships and the NCCC Alumni Association. The event is open to the public, alumni, faculty, staff and students.

Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Main Gym. A free kid's race will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the official race will start promptly at 6 p.m. ChampionChip RFID timing will be performed by ScoreThis!!!. Prizes will be given to the overall male and female winner, and awards will be given for the top three finishers in each age category for the 5K race. Walkers are welcome to participate in a 1.5-mile walk.

The price to participate in the 5K run or the 1.5-mile walk is $20 if you register before May 1, and $25 on race day. The fee includes an official NCCC Alumni 5K Run T-shirt for the first 150 participants, a post-race party on the front lawn of NCCC with dinner, refreshments and live music. Dinner and beverage tickets for nonparticipants are available for purchase at the party.
