The Western New York Ovarian Cancer Project announces the start of its annual geranium sale. Organizers need several hundred volunteers for this event. There are many ways to get involved with this venue. Volunteers are needed for sales, point of pick-up and help getting the word out, as well as volunteers to unload the truck on delivery day (Friday, May 9). Sign-up sheets are available online at http://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp1591548.jsp.

With the funds raised at last year's annual geranium sale, the Western New York Ovarian Cancer Project was able to launch its "Comfort & Hope Tote" program. These totes are given to women newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the time of diagnosis, letting them know there are others who have gone through the surgeries, chemotherapy and treatments they are facing, and that they have support and, most importantly, hope.

The not-for-profit Western New York Ovarian Cancer Project presents information on ovarian cancer to professional organizations, clubs, groups, high schools and colleges. Its diverse team of trained speakers presents information on the symptoms, risks and diagnosis of ovarian cancer, as well as personal stories of treatment and hope.
