NOCO Energy presented plans to the town Planning Board Monday that envisions a major overhaul of its gas station at the town's busiest corner.

NOCO representative attorney Sean Hopkins presented a modified plan to knock down the 1,000-foot NOCO Express kiosk, at 1898 Whitehaven Road at the intersection of Grand Island Boulevard, and replace it with an approximately 3,800-foot facility. He called the preliminary plan a $2.3 million investment that would create "a dramatic improvement" to the facility.

"We were originally envisioning a much larger NOCO facility," Hopkins said. "In some of their other locations in Erie County, what they tend to do is co-locate other retail tenants, whether it's Tim Hortons, Subway, Charlie the Butcher." He said NOCO had been unsuccessful identifying a suitable co-tenant for the facility "so as a result we're not proposing the larger convenience store that you'll see at some of their other, newer locations."
