'Into Light,' a concert by candlelight, debuts in Lewiston

Harmonia Chamber Singers, directed by Robert Pacillo, present "Into Light." This unique performance will be illuminated by candlelight and highlighted by special lighting effects. Featured will be the music of Lent, of repentance, life and death, darkness and illumination. Featured composers are Palestrina, Gesualdo, Brahms, Ticheli and Hogan.

The event, Harmonia's debut in Lewiston, is set for Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m., inside St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center St.

Other upcoming concert events include:

•Friday, March 7, 7:30 p.m. inside St. Louis Church, 35 Edward St., Buffalo.

•Sunday, March 9, 7 p.m., at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 5480 Main St., Williamsville.

A free will offering will be collected.

Harmonia has commissioned local blacksmith Andrew Chambers to create a Medieval-style candelabra for use in the series.
