Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-C-I-Lewiston, met Monday with Village of Lewiston Mayor Terry Collesano in his Albany office. Collesano was in Albany for the New York Conference of Mayor's annual Winter Legislative Meeting.

Ceretto and Collesano discussed what state lawmakers could do to help local governments reduce costs and deliver better services. High on their list of shared convictions is the need for true mandate relief and Aid and Incentives for Municipalities funding for Lewiston.

"Mayor Collesano and I share a concern for the residents of Lewiston and are working to lower their property tax burden," Ceretto said. "We both agree that real mandate relief and increased state aid would go a long way to accomplishing this.

"I thank Terry for taking time out of his schedule and coming to talk about these important issues to the people we represent."
