5-time Grammy winner and reigning queen of country pop will mentor top 12 artists

Top 12 artists will be revealed through real-time voting & real-time results on live playoffs April 17-18, work with Twain in next phase of competition

Global superstar Shania Twain will be a key adviser for the Top 12 artists on the Monday, April 24 (8 p.m. ET/PT), live telecast of NBC's three-time Emmy Award-winning series "The Voice."

With more than 100 million albums sold worldwide and U.S. sales topping 34.5 million, Twain remains the top-selling female country artist of all time. Twain's albums include her platinum-selling 1993 debut, "Shania Twain"; "The Woman in Me," her Grammy Award-winning double-diamond-selling 1995 release; "Come on Over," the best-selling studio album in Soundscan history by a female artist in any genre, and the best-selling country album of all time with more than 40 million units sold worldwide; and "UP!," Twain's third consecutive diamond-selling album release.

Recognizing her indelible impact and achievements in music, Twain is the first and only female to receive CMT's Artist of a Lifetime Award, and she recently received the Icon Award at Billboard's Women in Music ceremony. Twain's many hits include "Any Man of Mine," "That Don't Impress Me Much," "You're Still the One" and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"

On Monday, April 17, and Tuesday, April 18 (8 p.m.), the remaining artists will compete for a spot in the top 12 during "The Voice" live playoffs. The stakes are high as the artists from two teams perform in front of coaches Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani on each night for their chance at a coveted spot in the live shows. Through innovative real-time voting on "The Voice" official app and Twitter, fans will be able to advance two artists per team into the top 12, and results will be revealed on the same night. During this music-filled night, two coaches will then immediately choose the final artist from their teams to save, sending the other artists home.

The top 12 artists will then move on to the final live-show phase of the competition and have the opportunity to work with Twain. The final live shows begin Monday, April 24.

The current cycle of "The Voice" is averaging a combined 3.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 13.7 million viewers overall on Monday and Tuesday nights in "live plus seven day" averages from Nielsen Media Research, keeping NBC the consistent No. 1 network on both nights. So far this cycle, both editions have ranked in broadcast television's "live plus same day" weekly top 10 in adults 18-49 and total viewers each week the show has aired.
