Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Peter Cetera comes to the Seneca Allegany Event Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017. Three weeks later, actor and Grammy Award-winning singer Kris Kristofferson visits to entertain his fans.

Cetera has had two distinct musical careers. From 1968-86 he was the singer, songwriter and bass player for the legendary rock group Chicago. In his time with the group, band members recorded 18 of the most memorable albums of a generation, including such hits as "If You Leave Me Now," "Hard to Say I'm Sorry," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," "Stay the Night," "Love Me Tomorrow," "Happy Man," "Feeling Stronger Every Day" and "Along Comes a Woman."

As a solo artist since 1986, Cetera has recorded 10 time-honored records, filled with No. 1 hits, including the Academy Award-nominated "The Glory of Love" from the hit movie "The Karate Kid II"; "The Next Time I Fall," a duet with Amy Grant; "Feels Like Heaven," a pairing with Chaka Kahn"; "After All," a song performed with Cher and included the motion picture "Chances Are"; "No Explanation," from the mega hit film, "Pretty Woman"; and the unforgettable "Restless Heart."

In 1965, Kristofferson turned down an assignment to teach at West Point and, inspired by songwriters such as Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, moved to Nashville to pursue his music. After struggling in Music City for several years, Kristofferson achieved remarkable success as a country songwriter at the start of the 1970s. His songs "Me and Bobby McGee," "Help Me Make It Through the Night," "Sunday Morning Coming Down" and "For the Good Times," all chart-topping hits, helped redefine country songwriting.

By 1987, it was estimated more than 450 artists had recorded Kristofferson's compositions. His renown as a songwriter triggered Kristofferson's successful career as a performer and that, in turn, brought him to the attention of Hollywood, leading to his career as a film actor. Kristofferson has acted in more than 70 films.

Heralded as an artist's artist, the three-time Grammy winner has recorded 27 albums, including three with pals Nelson, Cash and Waylon Jennings as part of the Highwaymen.

Kristofferson has spent three decades performing concerts all over the world, in most recent years in a solo acoustic setting, which puts the focus on the songs.
