Blues legend Buddy Guy at UB Center for the Arts

The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, presents Buddy Guy at 8 p.m. Friday, April 21. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

At age 80, Guy is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago's fabled west side sound, and a living link to the city's halcyon days of electric blues.

Guy has received 7 Grammys, including a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, 34 Blues Music Awards (the most any artist has received), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Guy No. 23 in its "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."

He released his latest studio album, "Born To Play Guitar," in July 2015 on Silvertone/RCA Records. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's top blues albums chart. Grammy-winning producer/songwriter and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge - a Buffalo native -produced the album.
